    Project
BRUSK is the new cultural landmark of Musea Brugge, conceived to assert a bold and contemporary position within today’s cultural landscape. The name functions as an open acronym, reflecting flexibility, creativity, and innovation.

Located on the Garenmarkt site next to the Groeninge Museum, BRUSK will occupy a 20,000 m² publicly accessible area. The design features two elevated exhibition halls separated by a public passage, creating a highly open, transparent, and welcoming ground level connected to the city.

The building is designed for large-scale international exhibitions and embraces sustainability, architectural innovation, and spatial harmony. Visitors enter through a bright, open passage leading to public amenities such as reception areas, workshops, an auditorium, a museum shop, and a restaurant.

The upper floor houses two generous, flexible exhibition spaces illuminated by north-facing natural light, reminiscent of a traditional artist’s studio. Their monumental proportions allow for major exhibitions as well as performances, including dance, theatre, and music, making BRUSK a versatile and dynamic cultural venue.
